The Corn Tippers + Milkweed
About this Event
THE CORN TIPPERS…biodiesel for your eardrums! We are Max Godfrey (fiddle/banjo), Maggie Hall (guitar),Evan Kinney (Banjo, Fiddle) and Tre Watts (bass), and we play old time music. Add fructose to it and drizzle it on your pancakes, throw it in the hopper and grind it into grits, mash it into tortillas, slather butter on it straight from the cob, and by the moon’s shine, go ahead and tip it on back!
The Corn Tippers’ roots go all the way back to 2014, when Max and Maggie collided with Tré Watts while busking at Freedom Farmers Market. They’ve been gigging for the past decade in various shapes and forms, often with Evan Kinney, and have finally made it official with their debut album! Follow them @corntippers on instagram and facebook.
MILKWEED is a country-folk duo by Georgia-born-and-raised Wyeth Nabeel and Hadley Thackston. Thick as thieves since they were five, their bond is the thread that runs through every note they sing. Their music is a patchwork of girlhood and the long, winding stretch into womanhood; stitched with growing pains, heart, grit, and the kind of companionship that only comes from a lifetime of knowing and being known. Influenced by the likes of Sierra Ferrell, Courtney-Marie Andrews, and Kacey Musgraves, MILKWEED crafts songs that feel nostalgic, hopeful, mischievous, and full of sweetness – like coming home to yourself.
