The Cookout: 3rd Annual Black History Month Tennis Event
Presented by All-Love Racquet Club × Fortune Tennis
Black History Month meets tennis, culture, and community in South LA. The Cookout returns for its 3rd year, bringing together new and experienced players for a full day of learning, competition, and connection.

Intermediate & Advanced Players • 8 mixed-level teams • Player levels include 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 • 3 × 50-minute rounds • 3 matches guaranteed • Top teams advance to a final tiebreaker showdown

Do I need to play tennis to attend? No — spectators are welcome. Come watch, vibe, and support the community.
What level should I sign up for? Beginner players should register for the clinic. Intermediate and advanced players at the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, or 5.0 levelshould register for the team tournament.
Is this event beginner-friendly? Yes. This event is designed to be welcoming, supportive, and accessible.
What should I bring? Tennis shoes, water, sunscreen, and good energy. Racquets are recommended but not required for beginners.
Can I stay all day? Yes! Feel free to come early, stay late, and enjoy the full experience.
Team Tennis FAQs
Do I need to come with a full team? No. You’re welcome to sign up solo, with a partial team, or as a full team — we’ll accommodate you.
How are teams formed? Teams are mixed-level and balanced, with players at the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 levels on each team.
What’s the best way to sign up? Signing up as a full team or purchasing tickets in bulk is the easiest way to get a great value and keep your group together, but individual sign-ups are always welcome.
How many matches will I play? Each team is guaranteed 3 matches, each lasting 50 minutes.
How does scoring work? Matches are time-based. Coaches and staff will walk everyone through the format before play begins.
Is this super competitive? It’s competitive and community-first — high-level tennis, learning moments, and great energy throughout.
