The Conversation Club: Famesick by Lena Dunham
About this Event
Join us in ABC Amsterdam for an afternoon with the Conversation Club!
Is Lena Dunham the voice of our generation? Do we need to feel more empathy towards famous people? What is the cost of being perceived? Let's talk about it!
This edition of The Conversation Club is a book talk inspired by Lena Dunham's , but it quickly expands beyond the page into a wider conversation about fame, ambition, validation, oversharing, internet identity and the need to be perceived in a certain way.
We'll talk about the book but also reference Lena's TV show Girls as we unpack themes such as celebrity culture, personal branding, female ambition, parasocial relationships, ego, insecurity, art and attention.
Read the book, re-watch Girls and come join the conversation!
