Some beliefs were handed to us so early, we never thought to question them. Then life happened. We met someone. Lost someone. Learned something we couldn’t unlearn.
What’s one belief you once held that you no longer believe?
Let’s start there.
Before this became an event, it began with questions. Through an anonymous community research survey, The Contrasting Truths Project invited people to examine their beliefs about identity, relationships, purpose, fear, and growth—and consider where those beliefs came from.
The research brings those responses together to explore patterns, common ground, and contradictions. What happens when we place one belief beside another? Where do the things we believe support each other—and where do they clash? What have we accepted as “truth” simply because it’s what we were taught?
Now, we’re bringing those questions into the room—and you into the conversation.
Good Soil presents The Contrasting Truths Project at St. Noir Café, a live, interactive conversation hosted by Jesse ‘Be’ Jones exploring the beliefs we inherit, the experiences that challenge them, and how both shape the way we treat each other.
We’re making room to acknowledge, disagree, listen, and question the things we’ve been calling “truth.” Expect questions that get personal, perspectives you didn’t see coming, and moments that might have you saying, “Damn. I never thought about it like that.”
You don’t need a polished answer. Bring your lived experience, your curiosity, and a willingness to hear somebody out.
Come with somebody you always agree with. Or somebody you never do. There’s a conversation waiting for both of you.
