Come cheer for the marathon in an animal onesie!Conshy Running supports the Philadelphia Marathon in one of the best ways we know: by dressing up in a bunch of animal onesies and screaming our heads off. We’ll be meeting the same place we do every year, where Reservoir Drive meets Kelly Drive, near the Strawberry Mansion bridge. I think It’s about 16-17 miles into the race on the way out for runners, and 22-3ish on the way back. If you’ve ever run the marathon, especially for the people that fall out of pace groups, this section is VERY lonely. We’re often some of the only people on that stretch and it is a HUGE moral boost to have someone cheer for you.
The elite runners will probably get to us around 8:15-8:25 (I forget the exact distance we are from the start) but time is meaningless these days because apparently people can now run marathons in 2 hours. The race starts at 7, use your judgement.
Parking is usually pretty easy early in the morning and you can park on the strawberry mansion loop and walk down the hill.
Wear your animal onesie, bring breakfast items - but most importantly bring signs/noise makers and get ready to get loud!
