Join us for a rare and profound three-day Dzogchen retreat in the sacred Valley of the Dakinis, Lincoln, Vermont.

The Drikung Dzogchen Community of Vermont warmly invites you to The Completion of Primordial Wisdom: A Yangzab Dzogchen Retreat with Ven. Khenpo Yeshi Rinpoche — a deeply trained scholar-practitioner whose path includes intensive Dzogchen retreat, decades of teaching in Nepal and the U.S., and a long connection with His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche.

The Yangzab treasure teachings are unique to the Drikung Kagyü lineage, revealed as an earth treasure by Drikung Tertön Rinchen Phuntsok.

Padmasambhava himself prophesied that these teachings would be especially effective at cutting through spiritual darkness in difficult times — swift and complete in leading to full realization. ✨

Over three days, Khenpo Rinpoche will guide us through The Completion of Primordial Wisdom, the root Dzogrim text of the Yangzab cycle, along with Padmasattva Guru Yoga and transmissions for the completion-stage practices of Trekchö and Thögal.

🏔 A holy place of practice. His Holiness Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche and other lamas have recognized this valley in Lincoln as a true power place for spiritual practice — a sacred land where the dakinis abide. It was here that His Holiness had a Peace Stupa built, and ever since His Holiness the 16th Karmapa first visited in 1977, well over thirty Tibetan teachers have come to this valley to turn the wheel of Dharma.

This year, the Drikung Dzogchen Community of Vermont celebrates its 25th anniversary of holding the Yangzab lineage here. Come help us mark this milestone in such a holy and blessed place. 🙏

Whether you join us in person at Sunray Peace Village or online from anywhere in the world, this is a rare opportunity to connect with an authentic living lineage in a land long devoted to awakening.

Our Vision

🌿 DDCV was envisioned as a bridge between traditions — preserving the integrity of each lineage while creating a living environment for practice, study, and realization in the 21st century, as held by the supreme Dharma lord Drikung Rinchen Phuntsok (1509–1557).

Our path weaves three streams into one: the Yangzab Dzogchen treasure teachings (the natural perfection of awareness), Drikung Kagyü Mahāmudrā (direct realization of the nature of mind), and Kadampa Lojong (mind-training and compassion in daily life). Through these, practitioners purify obscurations, open wisdom, and awaken uncontrived compassion.

"The DDCV stands for the inseparable union of view and conduct—where Dzogchen's vastness, Mahamudra's clarity, and Kadampa's discipline meet in one stream of living Dharma."

— H.E. Ontul Rinpoche, founder of DDCV

About the Teacher

Ven. Khenpo Yeshi Rinpoche was born in Nakchu, East Tibet, in 1969. He showed a deep devotion to the Dharma from early childhood, and at thirteen received empowerments, transmissions, and oral instructions in the Longchen Nyingthig cycle from His Eminence Lungtok Rinpoche and His Eminence Nidrag Khenpo Konchok Gyaltsen.

At twenty he traveled to South India, where he trained across the Geluk, Kagyü, and Nyingma traditions at Sera Monastery, Dzogchen Monastery, and Drikung Jangchup Ling, excelling in both sutra and tantra. He studied closely with more than two dozen eminent masters and received the kama and terma transmissions of the Nyingma tradition from teachers including His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, and His Holiness Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche.

In 1993 he entered an intensive three-year retreat in Nepal under the renowned Dzogchen master Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, who granted him special Dzogchen teachings and personal instructions at the Asura Cave Retreat Center in Pharping. He went on to teach at Ka-Nying Shedrup Ling and Rangjung Yeshe Institute, helping shape monastic and international curricula still in use today. His connection with His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, beginning in 1998, eventually brought him to reside in the United States.

Dr. Khenpo Rinpoche holds a PhD in South and Southeast Asian Studies from UC Berkeley and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford University.

The combination of his deep retreat experience, breadth of lineage transmission, and scholarly depth makes the chance to receive these teachings directly from him a genuinely rare opportunity.
