Join us in a celebration of songwriting by the icon, Bob Dylan and a nod to the recent film about his life and early years as a musician. The show will feature many of the Bay Area's most well-known musicians and performers, all paying musical homage to the poet and musical genius.
Maria Muldaur / singer
Maria Muldaur is best known world-wide for her 1973 mega-hit “Midnight at the Oasis,” which received several Grammy nominations, and enshrined her forever in the hearts of Baby Boomers everywhere; but despite her considerable pop music success, her 60 year career could best be described as a long and adventurous odyssey through the various forms of American Roots Music. In the 53 years since “Midnight at the Oasis,” Maria has toured extensively worldwide and has recorded 44 solo albums covering all kinds of American roots music, including blues, gospel, R&B, jug band, jazz and big band (not to mention several award-winning children’s albums). She has now settled comfortably into her favorite idiom, the blues. Often collaborating with some of the top names in the business (Jerry Garcia, Aaron Neville, Dr. John, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Mavis Staples, Bill Wyman, etc.), Maria has recorded and produced on-average an album per year, several of which have been nominated for Grammys and other awards
Loralee Christensen / vocalist
Loralee Christensen has been performing and recording for over 25 years. Her powerful, multi-faceted, versatile, three octave range has kept her busy in studios and singing on stages in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Nashville, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and everywhere in between.
Loralee has performed live with soul legends: Carla Thomas, Bettye Lavette, Jerry Jemmott (Aretha Franklin), Bernard Purdie (Steely Dan), Bobby Rush and George McCrae as well as with rock/pop artists Mickey Thomas (Starship) Clarence Clemons (Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band) and Shana Morrison. Loralee spent four years as a lead and back up vocalist with the house band in Porretta, Italy at the world renowned Porretta Soul Festival and at the Maspalomas Soul Festival, Gran Canaria, Spain.
Paul Olguin / bass/vocals
Paul Olguin has performed and recorded with many local and national music stars including Jeffrey Halford, Dallis Craft, Jesse DeNatale, Chuck Prophet, Shana Morrison, Henry Salvia, Elvin Bishop, Tracy Nelson, Dr Elmo, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Huey Lewis, Mazzy Star, Augie Meyers, Maria Muldaur and others.
Candy Girard / violinist/vocals
Candy Girard performs with many bay area bands including Back Orchestra, The Dan Hicks Christmas Jug Band, The Familiar Strangers and more. She also has performed with John Fogerty, Albert Lee, & Johnny Lee Hank Thompson and Shirley Bassey.
She also toured Japan, Korea, England and Australia. Her tv work includes playing on The Tonight Show, Dancing with the Stars, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, and American Idol. Other milestones include CCMA Fiddle Player of the Year in Los Angeles, CCMA Fiddle Player of the Year in California, inducted into the South Australian Country Music Hall of Fame and induction into the California Western swing Society.
Dallis Craft / piano, vocals
Dallis Craft has earned a reputation as a talented and versatile entertainer. As a keyboard/ rhythm guitar player and vocalist, she has performed and toured with K.T. Oslin, David Frizzell, Mandy Barnett, and actor, Bruce Willis as a featured vocalist in his band, The Accelerators. Besides lending her lead and backing vocals to the Ace of Cups' last two recordings, Sing Your Dreams and Extended Play, she can be heard on recordings of Pee Wee Ellis, Huey Lewis and the News, John Lee Sanders, Jimmy Dillon, Melvin Seals, Jesse Colin Young, Greg Kihn, and her own CD Leap of Faith. National television commercials include Red Lobster, AT&T, and Rice-a-Roni.
Kevin Russell / guitar/banjo/mandolin/vocals
Kevin Russell is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. He performs regularly with the popular Sonoma County band, The Familiar Strangers, at local club venues, county fairs, parties, festivals, weddings and special events. He was the driving force behind The Sebastopol Guitar Festival, for nine years. In addition to being a musician Kevin hosts shows featuring touring musicians like Joe Craven, Gonzalo Bergara, Jim Hurst, David Lindley, Radney Foster, Jack Tempchin, Ray Bierl, Mike Dowling, Laurie Lewis, Kathy Kallick, Missy Raines & others. He has appeared as a sideman on 21 local recordings by songwriters & groups, has recorded eight CD's with his various bands and has six CD's out under his name. He is a DJ on Sonoma County’s NPR radio station, KRCB. Hosting the popular program Our Roots are Showing.
Henry & Kathleen Salvia / piano, accordian, vocals
They call their music Amerikinda, as their tunes repeatedly stray over the Americana border, blending country, pop, blues, beatnik jazz, swing, and old hippie influences. Songwriters Henry (piano, accordion, vocals) and Kathleen Salvia (vocals, acoustic guitar) can be seen around the SF Bay Area as a duo, or more frequently joined by a full troupe of players such as electric guitar whiz Sean Allen, Accordion Princess Big Lou, Pedal Steel Master David Phillips, “Big Bottom” Dave Golia on bass, drummer/resident poet Ken Owen, and percussionist John Pearson.

Tim Curley is a staff writer at The Press Democrat. Legendary underground guitarist Brendan Smith is well known for his transcendent and searing guitar solos with the rock band Uncle Wiggly, but he is also a brilliant songwriter and vocalist. He has released a long awaited CD of nine of his favorite songs, combining a wry humor with touching stories of life’s fortunes
Tim Gahagan / drummer
Tim comes to Sonoma County from the region affectionately referred to as the Rust Belt where in the 80’s and 90’s he worked tirelessly in Rock, Blues, Soul, Punk Rock clubs and dives from Detroit to Brooklyn. Since his cross-country relocation to NorCal in the early 2000’s he’s found himself working with some of the most talented musicians in the area and expanding his drumming style to include Brazilian Jazz, Surf, Country and Americana. Self-described as the consummate Blue-collar drummer he prides himself on the “less-is-more” approach, although there is a Keith Moon lurking inside waiting to be unleashed at any moment.

In his life as a professional singer/guitarist, Gary has contributed vocals, harmonica playing and guitar playing to many live performances and recordings by artists he’s worked with. The list includes Elvin Bishop, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Commander Cody, Etta James, Irma Thomas, Norton Buffalo, Maria Muldaur, Box Scaggs, Steve Miller, Carlene Carter and so many more.
