The Community Chest: College Preparatory & Financial Literacy Workshop

The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County's Young Women's Leadership Program presents ‘College Preparatory and Financial Literacy Workshop’ scheduled for Sunday October 22. The workshop is free. Lunch will be provided. 

High school male and female students and their parents or guardians are invited to attend. 

Participants will learn about the college application process and the art of preparing a college essay. Banking basics will be presented about the positives and negatives of debt. An in-depth discussion will examine the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS forms completed by students to determine their eligibility for need-based aid. 

           Speakers for the workshop are:

·     Emily Bloom of Athena College Advisors AICEP;

·     Representatives from Valley Bank of Englewood & Tenafly; and

·     Phyllis Kesslen from Bergen Family Center.

As space is limited advanced registration is required to attend the workshop.
