About this Event

Join us for the 2026 Colored Convention Conference, hosted at the historic Mother Bethel AME Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This three-day gathering commemorates the legacy of the Colored Conventions Movement, which began at Mother Bethel in 1830, and brings together scholars, educators, artists, faith leaders, students, and community members to explore the enduring impact of Black organizing, civic engagement, and collective action.

Through conversations, panels, workshops, cultural programming, and community engagement, participants will examine the history of the Colored Conventions Movement while exploring contemporary questions of Black leadership, public memory, justice, and the continued pursuit of freedom.

Join us as we honor the past, engage the present, and imagine the future of Black freedom movements.

Registration is offered through flexible contribution tiers to help ensure broad community access. Individuals and organizations interested in supporting the conference through sponsorship or a charitable contribution are invited to join us in sustaining this important work.
