ABOUT THE COLLECTION: CLEAR MIRROR

Clear Mirror, the latest installment at The Collection at Bobby Nashville, features artists who engage in some variety of alternative portraiture that challenge the boundaries of traditional and preconceived notions of one's self. The exhibition actively unveils the layers of complexity that define how we perceive both ourselves and others.

is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in Nashville. She is known best for vibrant otherworldly paintings, through which she candidly explores emotional relationships – both internal and external – via abstraction of the human figure.

is a Nashville-based visual artists who works to convey the intersection of Asian biraciality and womanhood in American culture. Investigating what she refers to as ‘the multitudes of self,’ Clayton’s work gives form to her heritage by exploring the self-portrait as a vessel for racial representation and the transcultural experience.

is an interdisciplinary artist from the island of Barbados currently living and working in New Orleans, LA. His work is rooted in an exploration of "freedom," connecting his lived experience with an intuitive process of painting and silkscreen mark-making.
