Born on the snow-capped peaks of Canada and refined in the Adelaide Hills, The Cloud Maker's music reimagines powerful goddess mythologies through an intoxicating instrumental palette: Te Kahureremoa Taumata's ancestral Maori Tāonga Pūoro (including hauntingly beautiful nose and bone flutes), Aviva Endean's experimental approach to clarinets and winds, Freya Schack-Arnott's emotionally charged cello and Nordic nyckelharpa, Maria Moles' propulsive drumming, and Sunny Kim's evocative vocals.
Fresh from electrifying performances at WOMADelaide and Phoenix Central Park, these five boundary-pushing virtuosos don Kate Davis' mesmerising costumes to physically embody their mythic inspirations.
