Jade heads up the soils team at Hutchinsons,. The Healthy Soils team see every day the immense influence that soil has over productivity, resilience, and the sustainability of our food system, and are inspired by how much untapped potential lies beneath our feet. Through providing practical, down to earth advice and translating complex science into meaningful action, Jade is passionate about helping farmers bring that potential to life.
Jade is also a 2026 Nuffield Farming Scholar researching how soil biological analysis can be better understood and applied across UK agriculture, bridging the gap between research and real world farming. During the workshop, Jade will introduce the three pillars of soil health - physics, chemistry and biology before exploring how weather extremes affect soil function and nutrient availability, and what farmers can do to build greater resilience.
