Climate Fresk workshop- Wednesday 17th September, from 17h-20h.
- Location: Fælledvej 12, Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke
- Room: Freedom Room, Building C
In order to take action and build solutions, we first need to understand the problem. Climate Fresk is a French non-profit organisation, on a mission to raise awareness about climate change. Today, more than 2 million people have been trained on the fundamentals of climate science, using their fun, scientific and collaborative workshop. At MS, we are excited to contribute to their mission by hosting 4 workshops (30 limited places) at our MS headquarters in Nørrebro!
Here is how the workshop works:
Participants gather around a table in teams of 4 to 8. They discover 42 cards representing the different components of climate change, based on the latest IPCC reports, and collaboratively work to identify cause and effect relationships, under the supervision of a trained facilitator to guide them, provide additional insights and ensure smooth communication.
The 4 stages of the workshop (3h in total):
• Part 1: PLAY & LEARN
Explore the cards and the links between them. Draw on collective intelligence to co-create the Fresk and understand the chain of cause and effect that leads to climate change.
• Part 2: CREATE & CONSOLIDATE
Anchor what you have learned by illustrating the Fresk together and giving it a name.
• Part 3: EMOTIONS
You will be faced with a lot of facts. Share your feelings on the topic and listen without judgment.
• Part 3: DISCUSSION
Explore different individual and collective actions, given the scale of the challenge. Think about related issues, wider than the climate.
A highly accessible game! No prior knowledge required. Novices can discover and dismantle any previously held prejudices; experts can deepen and develop their knowledge.
