The Christy Moore Songbook Performed by Liam Byrne

Wexford native Liam Byrne is a singer, songwriter, performer, recording artist and storyteller. He has been performing his show “Ordinary Man, The Christy Moore Songbook” since 2001. Beginning in the Bridge Tavern in Wicklow town in March of that year, Liam has has been criss-crossing Ireland and the world, performing the songs of the radical irish troubadour to thousands of people in venues both large and small. All the favorites are performed including, Nancy Spain, Delerium Tremen’s, Joxer and Ride On, Black Is The Colour as well as countless others.

The set constantly changes direction from satire & humour to angry musical history lessons on Cuba, apartheid or the loneliness of the Irish immigrant living abroad. This is a full concert clocking in at over 2 hours every night and Liam’s passion & love for these musical works of art songs made famous by a man who has by now acquired legendry status in Irish music is evident to be seen when he performs. Liam has performed 3 sold out tours to Australia in 2008, 2009 and 2012 3 Tours to the USA in 2003, 2006 and 2010 3 tours to the UK 2009, 2013 and 2014 He has three albums to his name, On This Road (1999), Golden Boats (2003) and No Ordinary Man (2012) and has had several radio hits behind him including “The Ballad Of Miriam O’Calaghan” and “County Bondi”.

Liam Byrne has an ability that not many artists have these days, namely the ability to hold his audiences’ attention for the duration of a two hour concert!. Hilarious stories of childhood romance, Poitin Stills or Irish weddings intertwine with the songs, some new and some old and some that have passed into musical history . He can have you singing Joxer at the top of your voice one minute and then bring an audience to silence with his version of “Black is the Colour” which leaves the hair standing on the back of your neck!
