The Chris Mondak Band

Chris Mondak is a Nashville-based jazz composer and bassist. A 2020 graduate of the New England Conservatory, Chris studied there with jazz legends Cecil McBee and Dave Holland, and he has performed with musicians such as Wycliffe Gordon, Dave Douglas, Shelly Berg, Marvin Stamm, Jeff Hamilton, and Jesus Molina. A former member of the Jazz Band of America and a founding member of the Nextgen Jazz Quartet, Chris has toured widely in the U.S. and China, and also performed in Australia, Mexico, and Panama. Chris’s dynamic compositions feature infectious, lively melodies. Chris’s tune “Always Smiling” was named the best original composition at the 2019 Hengqin Cup Jazz Competition in Zhuhai, China. Chris’s 2019 CD Eternal Youth has received extensive radio play, including on the nationally-syndicated Jazz Network, Jazz Happening Now, and Jazz After Hours. Glass Spheres, Chris’s newest CD (2022, Summit Records), was recorded at Nashville’s Sound Emporium studio, and features several of Chris’s talented band mates and collaborators, including Hunter Smith (sax), Gabe Feldman (piano), Lindon McCarty (guitar), and Chris Broomhead (drums). Since arriving in Nashville, Chris has maintained an active performance and recording schedule, including numerous high-energy shows at Rudy’s, with his own combo, with pianist Josh Karas, and with vocalists Daniel LeClaire, Millie McGuire, Huntley McSwain, and James Richardson

All patrons are required to provide proof that you are vaccinated for Covid-19, OR proof of a negative Covid-19 test that was administered within 72 hours of the date on which you are attending a show at Rudy’s Jazz Room. Proof of vaccination and test results must bear a name that matches the government-issued identification for the patron that is seeking entry. We accept a picture or scan on your cell phone, photocopy, or original document of your CDC-issued vaccination card. We will accept a printed, or digital copy of a negative Covid-19 test result from a test given within 72 hours of the date of the show you are attending.

This show is 21 and over only. All sales are final and we unfortunately cannot offer any refunds. Additional tickets may be available at the door on the day of the show even if it is sold out online.

Please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to the show start time. If you do not arrive within 45 minutes after the show start time on your ticket your seat may be resold to other patrons at the door. If you arrive after 45 minutes from the start time of the show and your ticket has been resold, although we cannot guarantee it, we will try our best to make space for you to attend the show.
