The Choral

Join at The Screening Room for a special fundraiser. On Monday, February 2nd at 7pm, we'll screen THE CHORAL along with a special introduction from NCS representatives. Tickets are $15 for Seniors and $17 for General Admission, with $5 from each ticket sold donated to the Choral Society.

Old-fashioned in the best sense, with lovingly applied period details and a standout performance from Ralph Fiennes at its center, this beautifully crafted story explores how music and companionship may not be able to stop the horrors of war, but they can provide a respite.
In 1916, as war rages on the Western Front, the Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire loses most of its men to the army. Determined to press ahead, the organization’s ambitious committee decides to recruit young males to swell their ranks. In addition, they seek a new chorus master, and despite their suspicions that he has something to hide, their best bet seems to be Dr. Henry Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes) – driven, uncompromising, and recently returned from a career in Germany. As conscription papers start to arrive, the whole community discovers that one of the best responses to the chaos of war is to make music together.
