The Choir of King's College, Cambridge in Concert at Trinity on the Green
About this Event
Trinity on the Green is honored to present a rare American appearance by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge — one of the most celebrated choral ensembles in the world — in concert on Tuesday, April 13, 2027, at 7:00 PM.
For nearly six centuries, the Choir of King's College has stood at the center of English choral tradition. Founded in the fifteenth century, the choir is drawn from choristers educated at King's College School alongside the college's Choral Scholars and Organ Scholars, all under the direction of the Director of Music. Its sound is inseparable from the building it calls home: King's College Chapel, whose soaring fan vaulting has framed the choir's singing for generations and made "the music of King's College Chapel... as well-known as the building itself." The choir is perhaps best loved worldwide for A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, its Christmas Eve service broadcast to millions of listeners each year, and it maintains a busy international touring and recording career, with a catalog spanning decades and available across every major streaming platform. This New Haven appearance is a rare chance to hear that world-famous sound live and in person.
All proceeds support the Trinity Chorister Program, home to Trinity's own historic chorister progarm, founded in 1885 and believed to be the oldest choir in New Haven and the seventh oldest of its kind in America. For nearly a century and a half, this choir has trained generations of young singers from the New Haven area, and your ticket helps carry that tradition forward.
