As quoted from Quinten Tarantino’s 2007 film Death Proof, Warren the Bartender exclaims, “Chartreuse! The only liquor so good they named a color after it!” The iconic French liqueur made in its commercial form by Carthusian Monks at the famed Grande Chartreuse Monastery in the Chartreuse Mountains since 1737 hardly needs an introduction. While its acclaim has never been a mystery, how to use this magical elixir and similar alpine liqueurs has bewildered many.
