GENA unites Detroit drummer and producer Karriem Riggins—renowned for his work with Common, Erykah Badu, Madlib, and the late J Dilla—with Dallas singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer Liv.e, one of contemporary R&B's most adventurous voices. Their debut album, The Pleasure Is Yours, blends jazz, soul, hip-hop, and experimental R&B into a sound that's both deeply rooted and unmistakably forward-thinking.
The Changing Same (TCS) has been a home for artists and audiences exploring the evolving sounds of R&B, Soul, Jazz, and the Black diaspora.
From groundbreaking newcomers to internationally celebrated artists and DJs, TCS has hosted an inspiring roster that includes Flying Lotus, Kaytranada, Adrian Younge, Toro y Moi, Thundercat, Snoh Aalegra, Omar Apollo, Masego, Alex Isley, DJ Rashida, Rich Medina, MNDSGN, SiR, Hiatus Kaiyote, Sango, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Gilles Peterson, and many more.
