I have been wanting to do an alt/punk country show for some time, and it finally came together during the coldest time of the year -- so this show is going to be inside obviously.
I have been wanting to get Lydia to play for a few years, and this year is that year I guess, so if you didn't get a chance to see her wonderful show last year at Cloudland, then you need to make this show. No excuses.
Lydia has a staggering amount of music out, so if you are not familiar with her, go to the least horrible streaming service and check out her music. It is easy to listen to her songs for days on end.
Also, Jon Snodgrass is making his way back. Jon actually played the first house show I ever had, so it is with great pleasure to welcome him to my home once again. It has been way too long.
Make sure to check out all of Jon's work with Armchair Martian, Drag the River, Scorpios in addition to his solo + buddies collaborations.
Next is James Eugene Russell of Cadillac Blindside, another punker playing country midwestern music. I saw James for the first time in early 2024 at Cloudland, and since then I knew he needed to be on this punk country bill whenever it happened, so I am super stoked to have him play.
We also have The Chair, which is a new duo country act with Jesse Thorson (Slow Death) and Luke Lecheler (The Right Here). Both Jesse and Luke are in tons of other bands and have played before at my shows. I can't wait to hear this new iteration of their work.
Lastly, SMFC is the solo project of Steev Custer from Chicago. When Steev isn't teaching music or collecting a gazillion guitars, he is playing in Death and Memphis and Space Age Zeros, and in the past he has even dabbled with playing in The Bomb and Naked Raygun. It's super cool he decided to make the drive up north to play this show.

As for show details, it is the same as usual. The show is free and open to the public. Feel free to invite others. There will be a donation box, so also please support the musicians.
The show will promptly start late, so there will be music at exactly sometime after 7PM. Feel free to come early and hang out too.
I usually have some food and drink available, but feel free to bring any special liquid you prefer.
That's it for now, and I hope you can make it. And if you don't make it, how else will you be able to see my cat, Starlord.
