The Challenge Of Change

Recent times have brought change to nearly everyone and the pace does not seem to be slowing. This session is about change, the opportunity for cultural and structural change that the exists within the chaos, and how to create the change you are seeking. Solving The Challenge of Change is an interactive session that will discuss the significance of the changes that are happening in your organization now, how they align with change models (Kaplan, Lewin, Kotter), and guidance on what you can do to drive and/or support meaningful change within your organization. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss their own circumstance and will have structured time to apply the information to develop a strategy for moving forward.

In this workshop, participants will:

• Discuss the impact of change on how work gets done

• Explore change models (Lewin, Kaplan, Kotter)

• Apply models to individual circumstances

• Build a change strategy that fits the participant organization

• Identify first steps to meaningful, lasting, change.

ABOUT YOUR TRAINER:

Lane Sherman is a trainer, speaker, and consultant working primarily with change, leadership development, and systems/processes/tools for building healthy organizations. Lane has an MA in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, is a certified mediator (JIBC), and is the author of “The Keys to Collaboration; How to build a great team or fix the one you’ve got”. Lane primarily works in both the public and private sectors however throughout his 20+ year career he has offered his time to support non-profit organizations delivering important services in our communities. He is currently working with Seniors Serving Seniors, a Victoria-based non-profit organization, as their Volunteer Education Coordinator.
