The Cave of the Mother

There is a time for discovering what we carry, and a time for allowing ourselves to lay it down. As we move beyond Samhain and deeper into the dark season, the earth offers a quieter rhythm—one that makes room for endings, rest, and the work that happens beneath the surface.
The Cave of the Mother invites us into that darkness as a place of shelter and return. Here, we can acknowledge what has shaped us without assuming we must continue carrying it in the same way. Something may have protected us, given us purpose, or helped us survive, and still be ready to be released.
Through ceremonial cacao, guided ritual, and immersive sound, November’s gathering creates space for that release. We will turn toward what we are ready to lay down, with time to honour its place in our lives and listen to what remains when we loosen our hold.
Release does not need to be dramatic to be meaningful. You do not have to force an ending, explain your experience to the room, or arrive with everything understood. There is room to move at your own pace within the ritual.
October’s What We Cannot Carry invited us to see, name, and listen. November offers the space to work with what was revealed. Each ceremony stands completely on its own—you do not need to have attended October to join us.
*Your Evening Includes*
- Ceremonial cacao
- A guided ritual of returning and release
- Frosted crystal singing bowls
- Frame drum and immersive sound
- Carefully held silence, grounding, and reflection
- A welcoming community ritual space
Symbolic, intuitive, or oracular messages may emerge naturally within the ceremony. Every gathering is different, and individual messages are not promised.
No previous experience with cacao, meditation, sound work, or ritual is required. Our cacao gatherings are intentionally kept small to support intimacy, trust, and the ritual container.

Ritual: 7:30–9:30 PM
Come early to ensure you have time to settle before we begin.
*Location*
The Witch’s Hearth at Shedpoint
1212 34 Avenue SE, Calgary
Park in the east lot and enter through the south main entrance using the accessibility ramp. Google Maps may direct you toward the back bays; follow the parking lot until Bay 120, which indicates the east lot.
*Exchange*
This offering can be used as your included monthly Witch’s Hearth Membership offering.
$50 — Alberta Witches Association Members & Witch’s Hearth Members
$55 — Non-Members
Hearth Members who have already used their included monthly offering can attend at the $50 member rate.
*What to Bring*
A yoga mat, blanket, optional pillow, water bottle, and journal and pen. You are welcome to bring a small crystal, talisman, or sacred item to accompany your own work.
Dress comfortably and bring what you need to settle onto the floor during ritual and sound.
