About this Event

Explore Dublin's hidden gems and beautiful coastal line while escaping your daily hustle and bustle. Along with old harbours, beaches and palm trees, you might even get lucky enough to spot a seal.

On this walk, your payment, apart from the transaction fee collected by Eventbrite, will go directly to our charity partners, in this case Walk in My Shoes. Thank you for joining us in this contribution!

This is a flexible 24km walk from Shankill DART Station to St James Church in Dublin City Centre.

We’re meeting at the car-park of Shankill DART Station at 9am for a brief introduction to the walk.

The DART is following our route most of the time, so you can easily join in later or leave earlier if preferred.

Difficulty: Moderate (flat but long)

Total: 24km

Meeting point: Shankill DART Station car-park

Meeting time: 9am sharp

Price: We ask for a €20 donation that we give to charity.

What to bring on the day:

  • Water – don't forget to bring your reusable bottle!
  • Packed lunch
  • Comfortable walking or hiking shoes. Proper, sturdy footwear suitable for long-distance walking, ideally with ankle support, will reduce the risk of injury on and after the walk.
  • Blister plasters
  • Sun cream and sunglasses
  • Waterproof jacket and overtrousers (just in case... it is Ireland after all!)

How to get there:

Bus: 7B, 45A and 45B.

Dart: Trains run regularly southbound from the city centre and Howth, and northbound from Greystones.

Car: As part of Follow the Camino's commitment to a sustainable planet, we ask that people car pool wherever possible when travelling to and from walking activities.

We look forward to introducing you to our days in Ireland and guiding you every step of the way.

Disclaimer: Participants will be responsible for their return trip home.
