About this Event
Join us at the Opening Ceremony of The Cambridge Festival of Islamic Arts for an intimate evening that inaugurates the return of a major Islamic arts festival, 50 years later. Expect a celebration of the diverse Islamic arts, featuring a lecture by Dr Timothy Winter (Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad), spoken word poetry by the award-winning Rakaya Fetuga, a calligraphy demonstration by master artist, Mahmoud Atef, and a performance by a surprise, A-list artist. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with one another before and after the event among a book market of leading Muslim publishers in the UK.

About The Cambridge Festival of Islamic Arts
The Cambridge Festival of Islamic Arts runs from 19 to 29 November 2026, bringing performances, exhibitions, lectures, and workshops to Cambridge's historic colleges, museums, and cultural spaces. Open to everyone, the festival celebrates the beauty and diversity of Islamic arts, and, fifty years on from the landmark 1976 World of Islam Festival, carries that spirit into our own time.
