Professor Mollie Smith-Waters with the Alabama Humanities Alliance brings to life this often-forgotten part of history involving freed POWs from Alabama's Cahaba Federal Prison and the ill-fated steamboat Sultana, which exploded on the Mississippi River in April 1865.
