The Bunker Buster Classic! 100 players. 10 teams. COMPLETE CHAOS!
Golf outing burnout is real... we know... so we created a new GOLF GAME!
The Bunkerbuster Classic will be a refreshing mix of competition, community, entertainment, and perfect chaos.
10 teams of 10:
Teams will create names and be assigned a color.
Rules (Scramble):
• 1 team representative from each team will shoot; repeat 10 times until all team members have taken a shot
• No team member can shoot twice
• Each team will choose its best ball and shoot from that spot.
• Teams will have chances to score points on each hole.
• Points will be added to the score at the end of each hole:
• Longest first drive of each hole- 2 points
***Hole in one jackpot = 10 points***
This continues until each team has at least 1 member sink the ball, or they reach a double-bogey; then they pick up, as there are no points to be awarded; their golf scorecard will reflect the double-bogey and move to the next pin.
On each hole:
• 0 for Double Bogey (Pick up ball).
• 1 point for Bogey
• 2 points for Par
• 3 points for Birdie
• 4 points for Eagle
Closest to the pin on all par 3s along the 9 holes:
• Closest = 5 points
• Second = 3 points
• Third = 1 point
This process repeats on each hole through 9.
Additional ways to score points:
• Teams can score points at each hole by playing side games and peer-to-peer fundraisers.
• Side games will have their own points to award and will be revealed on the day of
• For every $100 raised, a team will be awarded +1 point
After hole 9, all points are added from holes 1-9, and the team with the most points will win.
Tie Breaker:
Each team will select its champion for the putt-off. The team that makes the putt wins; the opposing team will have a chance to respond with a putt to continue the tie-breaker until one team stands.
Sabotage!
Okay, this is where it gets interesting…
Every team will have a chance to purchase cards before the game begins. There are TWO card types: Sabotage and Defense.
Sabotage cards allow teams to sabotage each other, adding challenge and protection for their own benefit.
BUT BEWARE!
Teams have Defense cards, too. For example, the REVERSE card plays like the UNO REVERSE card, which turns your card against you. Teams can also purchase the NOPE card at any time to cancel any card used against them.
There is a limit of ONE card maximum per team member, except for the NOPE card, which is 1 PER TEAM!
Communicate with your team and BUILD YOUR STRATEGY!
How to play the cards!
Cards are to be played before a shot is taken.
Example scenario:
You have the best drive of the round, but another team has a Tactical Acquisition card. They play the card to swap spots with you. BUT let's say you want to play the UNO REVERSE CARD, a defense card, NOW YOU can choose who THEY swap with.
After the Game:
Sit down and enjoy a dinner fit for a champion! Enjoy a refreshment, talk about the game, enjoy mini games, and await the presentation of the prizes awarded to the champion team!
