THE BUILDING TALLAHASSEE TOGETHER SERIES

The purpose of this workshop is to engage residents, entrepreneurs, educators, workforce leaders, nonprofits, labor organizations, veterans, and community stakeholders in developing a people-centered Economic Opportunity Agenda for Tallahassee.

The recommendations generated from this workshop will help shape Dr. Tifany Hill’s Economic Opportunity Platform for Tallahassee. This interactive workshop will gather community-driven recommendations to help create policies that support:

• Livable wages
• Workforce development
• Small business growth
• Entrepreneurship
• Youth employment
• Veteran employment
• Affordable housing stability
• Economic mobility
• Access to capital
• Neighborhood investment

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

Participants will:

1. Identify barriers to economic opportunity
2. Explore solutions to workforce challenges
3. Develop recommendations for small business growth.
4. Discuss pathways to livable wages.
5. Explore opportunities for youth and veterans.
6. Create a community-driven economic development framework.
