The Bridge Way School Annual Community Awards Breakfast 2023

The Bridge Way School is Pennsylvania’s first and only recovery high school. Based in Northeast Philadelphia., Bridge Way serves youth in grades 9-12 in recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in a compassionate and rigorous diploma-issuing program.

This year, we are honoring Senator Anthony Williams and Senator Jimmy Dillon for their leadership in advocating for recovery education at both the local and state level. In addition, we are celebrating the legacy of our founder Rebecca Bonner who retired in March 2023. We are proud to pause and recognize these three outstanding individuals.

Our annual breakfast helps us to fund the high quality recovery education our students need and deserve. Featuring a full-time certified peer recovery specialist through a partnership with Unity Recovery, Bridge Way provides group and individual recovery support. At the same time, Bridge Way practices holistic accountability through drug testing and strong mental health referral partnerships so that our youth can work toward and maintain abstinence. This year, we are particularly excited to have three experienced certified teachers leading our classrooms, a new artist-in-residence program, and a growing community garden internship and service learning project.
