The Bridge: Curated Songwriter Showcase
About this Event
The Bridge is a monthly songwriter showcase that helps artists build connections in Portland’s music scene while giving audiences a deeper look into the stories and creative process behind each song through thoughtful onstage interviews. Designed for artists who are new to songwriting, new to performing, returning to the stage, or new to Portland, The Bridge offers a welcoming listening-room environment where songwriters can share original music and connect with an attentive audience.
For listeners
The Bridge offers audiences a chance to discover emerging songwriters in an intimate setting built for listening.
For those who already know and support the artists, it is also an opportunity to hear their work in a quieter, more intentional room where lyrics land, dynamics breathe and the songs can be experienced fully.
The evening runs approximately two hours and includes a short intermission.
For songwriters
The Bridge exists to help songwriters cross from open mics into listening room performances. The Bridge is for emerging artists who are new to songwriting, new to performing, returning to the stage, or new to Portland.
Artists share well developed original songs in a supportive but focused setting alongside two other writers. The format encourages connection between artists and audience while keeping the music at the center of the evening.
Artists receive:
- A base performance honorarium
- Shared tips from the evening
- Full merchandise sales
- High quality video footage of their performance

Performing Artists
Claire Lorenzo
Claire Lorenzo is a Portland-based songwriter, vocalist, and trumpet player. Raised in New Jersey and shaped by a decade in New York City, she found a new creative home in the Pacific Northwest in 2021, where pines, foggy coastlines, and mountain landscapes quickly seeped into her songwriting. Her music blends cinematic metaphors with a grounded sense of place, blurring the lines between love and heartbreak, longing and belonging, softness and strength. Her debut solo “Wet Pine” is slated for release in late Fall 2026. She is also the founder, vocalist, and trumpet player of the Portland-based indie rock band Shore Pines, which earned nominations for Best Indie Album and Best Music Video by the PNW Music Awards in 2025.

DriftCo
Drift.Co, short for “Driftwood Collective” is a collaborative Americana music project led by singer-songwriter Dan “Cargo” Ainson. Drift.Co features indie-folk inspired lyricism, matched with rhythmic delivery. Dan began making music in Denver after immersing himself in the indie-folk songwriting scene of Portland, Oregon. Drift.Co’s first single, “Ode to the Atlantis” is a nod to the coveted Tuesday night songwriter open mic that inspired his musical journey. Now that he is back in the PNW, the project has taken flight, and is inspired by the thriving Americana and Roots Music scene of Colorado, mixed with the Indie Rock & Alternative Music influence of Portland. Drift.Co’s second single “Halfway Houses”, set to be released this fall, is an Americana powerhouse, featuring David Lawrence and the Spoonful. Drift.Co’s live sound is inspired by the lyrical storytelling of John Craigie and Tyler Childers. Their upcoming EP will feature a full band sound inspired by Paul Simon, Van Morrison, and Brandi Carlile.
