This 3 day retreat is a mystical, joyous initiation into holistic yoga with the primary focus on the breath. Breathing is our most intimate connection to life itself. With proper application of practice, we can use the breath to build awareness of our entire being. So many of us are unaware of the fact that we are joyful, creative, and loving by nature. The scientific pursuit of yoga affords us the ability to discover this core truth for ourselves. This practice can be very simple, yet extraordinarily profound.What you will learn: -a deep connection to your intuition, ie. listening to what your body-mind is telling you
-techniques backed with experiential results that will allow you to self-regulate your nervous system
-the mechanics of breathing and why regulating breath in a certain way creates certain feelings
-the yogic technique of bandha (energetic locks) and their applications
-how anxiety and depression manifest and what we can do about it
-how to find your own inner core of joy, even when exterior circumstances seem bleak
-familiarity with subtle awareness through pranayama (yogic breathwork) and meditation
-how to QUIET THE MIND when it's running rampant
-how practicing simply, every day, can make tremendous impact on one's life and circumstances
-how to generate LOVE for yourself and avoid harmful thought patterns
-how to develop a daily ritual or routine to support your lifeDuring the retreat, you will receive delicious vegan and gluten-free nourishment provided by local registered nutritionist, Roxy Thomas. The meals will be cleansing and healing, with a focus on local and organic ingredients. Each day's menu will be thoughtfully designed for your well-being and prepared with LOVE!

Daily Schedule:
0600-0745 - Holistic Yoga Practice (practicing silence)
0800-0900 - Breakfast and cleanup (practicing silence)
0900-1000 - Rest and Digest (silence is lifted)
1000-1200 - Lecture and practice
1200-1300 - Lunch and cleanup
1300-1600 - Free time/Self-Study/Acupuncture
1600-1630 - Closing and meditationWe will begin Friday morning with the Yoga class as usual. The morning lecture will give us time to introduce ourselves and go over some housekeeping.We will maintain silence in the mornings until breakfast is finished, and will again practice silence from the closing meditation until after breakfast the next morning.This is a non-residential retreat. Attendees will be responsible for their own lodgings after departing the closing meditation. No overnight stays are possible.
