A 75-minute experiential workshop introducing baseball & softball athletes to the fundamentals of breathing for focus, energy, and recovery.
About this Event

We pour time and money into the physical side of the game. The swing, the arm, the strength, the velocity. The mental side gets almost none of that, even though it's often what decides who comes through when the pressure is on.

That's the part the pros work on. As the breath coach for the San Diego Padres, Reis Paluso trains athletes whose physical tools are already there, where the edge comes down to focus and composure under pressure. Breathing is the most direct way in, and the advantage is open to any athlete willing to learn it.

This 75-minute experiential workshop introduces the fundamentals of breathing for baseball and softball athletes. Athletes will feel a few simple breathing principles in their own bodies, learn why they matter, and get a clear first look at how these tools can support stress, focus, energy, and recovery.

This workshop is for the athletes. Middle school, high school, and college players go through it together. Parents can sit in and observe, so they understand what their athlete is working on and how to support it at home.

Athletes will leave with:

  • A way to read how stress and pressure change their breathing
  • Breathing mechanics that support body awareness and recovery
  • An understanding of how to reset in real time
  • A way to downshift after training and late games, so they can recover and rest
  • A clearer sense of how breath connects to their energy and focus

This is an intro and the start of something bigger around complete athlete development. Breath is one of the most accessible tools an athlete has. Once an athlete learns to use it, they keep it for life, long after the game.

Who's teaching this

Now in his third season with the Padres, Reis Paluso came to this work the long way. Before any of it, he spent years building businesses and ran himself into the ground doing it. Breathing is what brought him back. He learned it the hard way, then spent the last decade studying it so he could teach it right.

He's sat with pro athletes before a game and with teenagers feeling real pressure for the first time. He's a dad too, so he knows the view from both sides of this. What he cares about is the athlete in front of him, whether they're throwing gas or still figuring out their swing. He teaches this work in a way athletes can actually relate to, so they walk out with something they can use right away.
