For one night only, the Legendary Fried Dough Band becomes The Boss, David Stone.
A long-running gang of musical degenerates, one-off party throwers, and occasional tribute band shapeshifters, the Legendary Fried Dough Band first made its name in the early 2000s by appearing out of nowhere to perform full-album and concert-film spectacles — Talking Heads’ classic concert film Stop Making Sense, Ween’s Chocolate and Cheese, Pavement’s Slanted and Enchanted, even their own version of Soul Train — then disappearing again before anyone could ask too many questions.
Now, for no sensible reason, they return as The Boss, David Stone: a rock ’n’ roll dance party built from the music of Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, and The Rolling Stones.
It is not a tribute band. It is not a supergroup. It is probably not a good idea.
But it is happening.
