The Book Club - The Food We Trust (dinner)
About this Event
Can We Trust Our Food?
Most of us eat three times a day.
Few of us stop to ask why we trust what’s on our plate.
We trust farmers we’ve never met.
We trust labels we’ve never questioned.
We trust ingredients we can’t pronounce.
We trust systems we barely understand.
For this special dinner edition of The Book Club, we’ll gather around a shared table to explore food, trust, and the stories behind what we eat.
Inspired by A.J. Liebling’s Between Meals and Jay Rayner’s A Greedy Man in a Hungry World, we’ll move beyond nutrition and food trends to discuss pleasure, memory, responsibility, and most importantly the relationship between trust and the food in our European plates.
Through a three-course dinner at Breman Brasserie, in partnership with DG Santé, and guided conversation, we’ll ask:
Who do we trust with our food?
No reading required.
