For more than five decades, guitarist and vocalist Bobby Young has been a driving force in Bay Area blues, blending influences from Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, and Sly Stone into a sound that is uniquely his own. The Bobby Young Project delivers an electrifying mix of blues, rock, funk, and soul, backed by a powerhouse band featuring Bobby’s son, Nick Young, on guitar. Bobby has performed and recorded with legendary artists including John Lee Hooker, Maria Muldaur, Sugar Pie DeSanto, and Archie Lee Hooker, and contributed guitar work to acclaimed John Lee Hooker tribute recordings. Named Northern California Entertainment Music Awards’ Blues Band of the Year, The Bobby Young Project continues to captivate audiences with high-energy performances, exceptional musicianship, and a deep passion for the blues.
