'The Bob Cats & Lola Guthrie' In The Garden
About this Event
Colony Presents: 'The Bob Cats & Lola Guthrie' In The Garden!
Rock drum legend Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney) and his band of Woodstock all stars rock the Dylan songbook with soul and fire!
The spirit of Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder band lives on through The Bob Cats. Based in Woodstock, NY, where Dylan and The Band lived and forged their explosive folk-rock sound.
The Bob Cats bring to life the rock ’n’ roll spirit of the Dylan classics with passion and authenticity. After performing together in various configurations at the Woodstock Bob Dylan Birthday Celebrations, The Bob Cats formed officially in 2021, quickly becoming a regular attraction in Woodstock and beyond — packing rooms with enthusiastic audiences of locals and tourists.
Legendary rock drummer Jerry Marotta propels The Bob Cats with his undeniable groove, while life-long Dylan interpreters Doug Yoel and Kyle Esposito dig deep into the lyric and vocal performance of these classic tunes. Kyle is the band’s resident guitar hero, whose roots-rock style contains echoes of Jerry Garcia and Robbie Robertson, with epic dynamics that are all his own. Bruce Jay Milner (Every Mother’s Son) plays piano and organ, and sings beautifully in the group. Rob Stein (The Mammals) adds a layer of dreaminess with his pedal steel mastery, and Chuck Cornelis (Chris Isaak) lays down an authoritative bass groove.
Together, The Bob Cats explore Dylan’s best-loved tunes and deep cuts, and all the sonic variations that made Bob’s concerts so engaging throughout the decades.
LOLA GUTHRIE
Lola Guthrie is a young folk singer-songwriter from Sebastopol, California. Drawn from a well of fierce love for humanity, her songs are ripe with poetry and wisdom beyond her years. Her vivid lyrics will take you to a place in your heart where beauty dances with the pain of the world. Lola weaves myths and stories from history, literature, and religion into her songs to face the deep questions in life: mortality, freedom, and the great mystery that trembles from your own calloused hands to the constellations above you. Her striking voice carries the emotion of her words and often silences the room immediately.
