After slaving away at a leisurely pace for a year in Lyall Bay, dynamic Wellington rock five-piece The Blue Summer finally has something to show for their toil. Engineered by scene veteran Peter Jamieson and mixed by their own Alan Beere, The Blue Summer delivers five searing rock tracks with wisps of the gothic, the chill of post-punk and the lingering hint of funk. Witness them perform the EP along with older and newer material at their spiritual home of Valhalla on Vivian Street on Friday the tenth of April. Joining them is Serenna - a gothic rock band recently resurrected after a fifteen-year hiatus, and now complete with some luminaries of the darker local scene.
Doors open at 8pm. Punctuality is encourated. Tickets on UTR for $10 + BF.
