The Blind Hockey League (BHL) is proud to announce the players selected for this year’s 2025 Carnegie Cup in Las Vegas, Nevada. Last month, the BHL announced the Vegas Golden Knights’ training facility, City National Arena, would be the host venue from December 19 to 21 2025. This marks the league’s third tournament, and the first held outside of Canada, in partnership with the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.
“The Blind Hockey League has proven that we can bring together the best Blind Hockey players to form one elite league as we grow the Para sport worldwide,” said Dan Schramm, Chairman of the BHL/BHLPA. “Hosting the Carnegie Cup in Las Vegas in partnership with the Vegas Knights Foundation shows the hockey world that we are serious about international growth and that we’re a professional league. Despite vision loss, Blind Hockey is a fast, competitive, and highly entertaining sport.”
The BHL Selection Committee finalized a selection of 24 players and four goaltenders, representing Canada, the United States, and England. Among those chosen are the two youngest players in league history at the age of 17: Dante Giammarioli of Edmonton, Canada, and Easton Kitto from Dallas Texas of the United States.
“This was undoubtedly one of the toughest decisions the BHL Selection Committee has faced,” said BHL Commissioner Luca DeMontis.
Final team rosters will be announced one month prior to the event. Players will compete in a three-game best-on-best series, showcasing the fastest sport on ice played by athletes with 10% vision or less. In Blind Hockey, B1, B2, and B3 are sight classifications within the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) system that categorize players by their level of remaining vision, ensuring fair competition. A B1 player has no light perception or no vision, a B2 player has limited light perception with a very small visual field, and a B3 player has more functional vision than a B2 but still falls within the legally blind definition.
