The Blasters exemplify the best traditions of American Music, performing with passion and honesty that for over three decades has won the hearts and souls of fans worldwide. Composed of founding members vocalist-guitarist Phil Alvin, drummer Bill Bateman and bassist John Bazz with Keith Wyatt on guitar, they carry on a hard-won legacy as one of the most recognizable and credible bands in American Music. Their influences range from the likes of George Jones and Carl Perkins to Ike Turner, Howlin’ Wolf, James Brown and Big Joe Turner, all blending into a sound that ignores the lines between Rock & Roll, Country, Blues and Rockabilly. "Fun On Saturday Night" (Rip CatRecords) is the Blasters' sixthand latest studio album, featuring twelvetracks that extend the band’s legacy of classic recordings. Fronted by Phil Alvin's powerful vocals, the band follows through with spontaneity, power and grit that make their live performances into experiences not to be missed.

HANK AND LYNNE STARTED PERFORMING TOGETHER ALMOST ACCIDENTALLY - A HAPPY ACCIDENT, AS IT TURNS OUT, BECAUSE IT SPARKED A MUSICAL COLLABORATION THAT HAS SINCE BROUGHT THEM TO VENUES RANGING FROM ICONIC IVY ROOM TO SAN FRANCISCO’S GREAT AMERICAN MUSIC HALL.

Folks from the Bay Area are likely to recognize Hank’s signature sound on guitar, bass, and vocals. He has been active on the roots music scene since the early 80’s, playing in bands such as Bonnie Hayes and the Wild Combo and internationally with the Hacienda Brothers. Hank leads his own roots trio Hank Maninger and the Jukebox Charlies, and plays bass with The Seducers and Mitch Polzak and the Royal Deuces. Stop by Club Deluxe one of these Friday or Saturday nights, and you’re likely to catch Hank playing.

Lynne’s parents bought her an acoustic guitar when she was 15, but she never sang anywhere other than church—and never into a microphone, heaven forbid—until the night Hank woke her up at 1:00 am and asked her to sing a duet with him at the school talent show. (She agreed just to get rid of him). It turns out Lynne loves to write, and she and Hank have been writing and performing together ever since.

Just in case you were wondering, yes, Hank and Lynne are married. Twice. And they visit Nashville every year right around their anniversary. Here’s to luck, love, and a passion for good country music!

Nashville Honeymoon is proud to have one of the tightest rhythm sections around, with Tim Wager on electric bass and Timothy Orr on drums.

Tim Wagar has been a part of the Bay Area music scene since 1974; working with blues and soul greats such as Lavern Baker, Lowell Fulson, Otis Rush, Bo Diddley, Jimmy McCracklin, James Cotton, Floyd Dixon, Robert Lockwood Jr., Pinetop Perkins, Henry Butler, Barbara Lynn, Brownie McGhee, Charles Brown, Charlie Musselwhite, Syl Johnson, and Howard Tate.

He performs with local favorites including Terry Hanck, Flambeau, Brenda Boykin, Mitch Woods, Glenn Walters, Chris Cain, and the Soul Delights; and has toured throughout the US, Canada, Japan and Europe. He has recorded with Taj Mahal, Maria Muldaur and Howard Tate. Here is what Lowell Fulson has to say about Tim: “Man, playing with you is like ridin’ in a Cadillac.”

Timothy Orr began playing the drums in 1976 at the age of eight. He studied with Edward Blackwell from 1985-89 at Wesleyan University, earning a BA in English with a concentration in Medieval and Renaissance literature before beginning work in the music industry. Timothy joined the Monterey Jazz Festival staff in 2006.

Timothy has played with a number of musicians and projects in many genres, from pit band work in musical theater to avant garde free jazz, bebop, rockabilly, blues, Cajun & zydeco, burlesque, French yé-yé , early jazz, and roots music. During his college rock band days, he warmed up for emerging talents like Helmet, Fugazi, and Soul Asylum. Since moving to the Bay Area in 1992, some of the musicians he’s played with include Josh Roseman, Stephen Schwartz, Damon Smith, John Finkbeiner, Marco Eneidi, Henry Kaiser, Rent Romus and the Life’s Blood Ensemble, Vinnie Golia, Guinea Pig, Aram Shelton, William Winant, United Separatists, Danny Poullard, Motordude, Tete Rouge, Andre Thierry, the Zydeco Flames, Zydeco Slim, Mitch Polzak and the Royal Deuces, the Bon Vivants with Andrew Carriere, Mark St. Mary, the Megaflame Big Band, Rue ’66, Maurice Tani & 77 El Deora, Gayle Lynn & the Hired Hands, Chris Sprague & His 18 Wheelers, and many others. Timothy has recorded 11 albums for the Edgetone label and can be frequently seen and heard at Bay Area venues like Ashkenaz, Club Deluxe, the Make Out Room, the Ivy Room, Pier 23, the Saloon, Blondie’s, Devil’s Acre, and Bottom of the Hill.
