The Black Experience will focus on spreading “Black Joy” and the illumination of information across the Health & Wellbeing, Education, Economic Security, Elder Support, and Incarceration Support Black Impact Collaborative Impact Areas, that will ultimately elevate the experience of Black people in Greater Grand Rapids. Some of the features of The Black Experience includes a business expo and exhibits, local and national plenary, and workshop speakers, Roaring 20's Harlem Nights theme party, memorial walk, live entertainment, food and much more! The event will be hosted at GRPS University 1400 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.

THE BLACK EXPERIENCE DETAILS, BY THE EVENT:

Roaring 20's Harlem Night Kick-Off Party for The Black Experience:

The Black Experience will kick-off with a roaring 20's Harlem Nights themed party from 7:00-11:00pm. It will feature a live band, best dress contest, dance off competition & more! Will you be the one to win one of our cash prizes? The ticket also includes food and 1-ticket to the cash bar. Grab your crew and throw on your flapper sequin and fringe dresses, suspenders, vests and pinstripe to shimmy the night away!

The Black Experience:

The Black Experience is free and open to the public. It includes a Business Expo and Exhibits, local and national plenary, and workshop speakers, 20’s theme party, memorial walk, live entertainment, food and much more! Though it is free, we encourage registration for entry into The Black Experience, so all can be entered into our raffle give-aways and notifications.

The Black Experience Business Expo:

The Black Experience Business Expo features premier Black-owned businesses and more. The vendors will be located indoors and will include business of all types from food, non-profits, corporations and more! The Business Expo will be open 12:00-6:00pm Saturday of The Black Experience.

If you are interested in becoming a vendor, it is open to all vendors and we have early bird pricing.

The expo will be indoors and near our kids' corner, which features free activities for youth of all ages. The expo is open to all businesses, non-profits, corporations in the community. Get access to the hundreds of people who will visit The Black Experience!
