The Big Sun is a Barrington, New Hampshire–based three-piece heavy progressive rock band known for its massive, groove-driven sound and high-energy live performances. Fronted by brothers Griffin and Roddy MacMillan on guitar and bass alongside drummer Nic “Cretus” DiCicco, the band blends the grit of ’90s hard rock with technical progressive influences, drawing comparisons to artists like Tool, Soundgarden, and Rage Against the Machine while incorporating angular, modern metal textures. Emerging from the Seacoast scene in the early 2020s, The Big Sun has quickly built a reputation for intense shows and a genre-blurring approach that balances heavy riffs, intricate musicianship, and melodic depth.
Rock Bottom are an NH-based alt-rock band from Hooksett led by songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Liam Hansen, with Will Boisvert (bass/backing vocals) and Kevin Plakyda (drums). They broke out with the 2022 debut single “Frankenstein”—tagged by the band as alternative rock / punk with a horror-punk streak—and followed with their debut record Dying on Your Left Side (released October 31, 2024). The band’s releases were recorded, mixed, and mastered in New Hampshire (including sessions at North Main Music in Nashua).
Serene is a New England–based metal band active in the New Hampshire local circuit, blending grunge, hard rock, and nu-metal into a heavy, riff-forward sound.
