The extremely popular annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Christchurch fundraiser The BIG Quiz is back for another year!Every year we love to run this fun event for people to come together, answer some questions, have a laugh, and support the mahi of BBBS.
Tickets are $20 per person (+ booking fee); we suggest teams of 4-6 people. If you come solo or as a duo, we can do our best to match you up with others on the night to form a team if you want.
It's not just about testing your general knowledge, each round you'll have the opportunity to buy an answer and we'll also be running a raffle with some amazing prizes (keep an eye out we start to announce these soon). There will also be a bottle toss happening so bring your gold coins and have a go!
We are a registered charity and rely on the generosity of our local community through sponsorship, donations, grants, and these fundraising events as we receive no Government funding. Although the service is free to families, the cost to provide mentoring for each young person/taiohi isn’t; it costs approximately $2,000 per year to fully support each mentoring match.
All funds raised go directly to supporting young people in Christchurch through one-on-one mentoring. We match children aged six through to 12 years with volunteer mentors in professionally supported one-to-one relationships until they reach 18 or they graduate because they've reached a natural, self-sustaining point in the relationship. It’s through these strong, trusted, and enduring mentoring relationships that our young people are given the opportunity to shine!
