The Big Easel Art Show

The Big Easel is an outdoor fine art event held annually in River Ranch Town Square in Lafayette, Louisiana. 

Established in 2009 and now in its 17th year, the event provides a platform for local and regional artists to showcase their work. Featuring a curated selection of artists working across painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture, The Big Easel presents a dynamic range of contemporary visual art in an open-air setting. 

Set within the landscape of River Ranch, The Big Easel invites guests to experience original work firsthand, engage with artists, and connect with the creative process. Families with children of all ages are welcome, with dedicated art activities designed to inspire younger audiences and encourage hands-on participation. 

In collaboration with local businesses, the event features a series of thoughtfully designed pop-up food and beverage experiences throughout the day. Free and open to the public, The Big Easel offers a vibrant, accessible, and distinctly local way to experience fine art.
