It’s Butterfly Fever at Tropical World 🦋Discover the beauty of butterflies this summer ☀️
We’re joining the Big Butterfly Count and you can too!
On 13 and 14 July, we’re welcoming our partners Butterfly Conservation, with information about the butterflies you can spot here at Roundhay Park. Across the weekend, there’s activities on offer! Our unique Tropical World Butterfly ID chart will help you spot the exotic butterflies that fly freely through the mangroves of the Butterfly House. Make your own butterfly feeder to hang in your garden, do some colouring, have your face painted, or take a butterfly selfie with our beautiful butterfly wings.
The shop has a host of butterfly toys, books and games on offer, there’ll be butterfly buns on sale in the Tropical World Café and the Tropical Lookout will be offering freshly made stone baked pizzas 🍕
Check out the new Sculpture Trail, a series of beautifully carved, felled beech trees in Roundhay Park, created by local artist Shane Green. Each piece representing the animals and wildlife you can discover in the park 🌳
You can join us for the count! Pick up a copy of the Butterfly ID chart from our team, head down to the meadows and record the number and type of butterflies you spot in a 15-minute slot - don’t forget to submit your sightings. Then enjoy the parkland, lakes, woodland, beautiful gardens and play areas, you really will have a fantastic day out ✨
