MATT BARRANTI BIO Guitarist Matt Barranti has been a part of the Pittsburgh music scene since 1978. He studied with Eric Susoeff, Tony Janflone Sr, Bill Loughman, and has played in many local bands, including Southbound, Dixie Flyer, The Defenders, and since 1991, The Matt Barranti Band.
After a brief tour with Foghat in 2017, Matt and his Band won the Western Pennsylvania Blues Challenge in 2017 and competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN.
In 2022 he won Best Blues Guitarist in Western PA.
Matt is now studying with Berklee and Duquesne alumni Scott Elliot, and he teaches at The Guitar Gallery in Canonsburg. He performs regularly with The Matt Barranti Band, The Bill Ali Band, the Barranti-Caskey Project, Hewlett-Barranti and several freelance acoustic projects.
You may also know him as a member of the Yinzer House Band which plays at the Benedum with Scott Blasey, Bill Deasy, Clinton Clegg, Pete Hewlett, Jeff Jimmerson, Norm Nardini, Joe Gresheki, Johnny Angel, and many others.
David Flodine "Flo", a long time Pittsburgh guitarist and vocalist is now adding his talent to the BFD trio. A veteran of many styles and bands, equally at home playing R&B, Funk, Jazz, Roots, Rock or country, he now joins with old friends guitarist Matt Barranti and bassist Jeff Dressler. His unique style is the result of a lifetime of influences from Beatles to Motown, from Dickey Betts and Larry Carlton to Al Dimeola and Joey Landreth. Free time can be motorcycling, skiing and his church praise band.

Jeff Dressler has been fortunate to have a number of influences over the years who have helped him develop his love for music. His parent’s started him out on the piano and trumpet from 2nd grade and then the guitar a year or two later. They championed and encouraged him in any number of church-related choirs and bands during his formative years and provided the instruments, transportation and support needed to be successful. As one of the tallest people in the middle school band, Jeff was asked to play the bass in the orchestra. While orchestral music was not necessarily his calling, the bass has been at the core of Jeff’s love for music ever since. While he learned to play bluegrass and country music earlier in his career, his playing today is influenced by the blues, MOTOWN and rock and roll as much as anything else. He’s had the good fortune to warm up numerous national acts over the years and has an understanding wife supporting his efforts today. Jeff enjoys playing and singing with both BFD and The Matt Barranti Band and is challenged to perform at his best every time he plays with these outstanding musicians!
There will be a $10 performance cover for the musicians.
