While the country may be celebrating 250 years of independence, the modern wine industry in the United States is really only about 50 years old. We can mark the beginning of the modern US wine boom at the Judgement of Paris tasting back in 1976, where California wines beat French wines in every category of a prestigious blind tasting. Since then, US wine has flourished, with the establishment of 280 American Viticultural Areas across the country. Farmers and winemakers from the Atlantic to the Pacific have been researching, innovating, experimenting, and pushing the boundaries to develop the Great American Wine.

Join us for a casual seated wine class where we will discuss the history of wine in the united states and breakd down the best wine regions while we taste six of our favorite fine wine examples at Planet Wine!
