Silent night? Not a chance. But sometimes a little joyful noise is the perfect way to celebrate the holidays in “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical” running December 13 through 22, 2024 at the Racine Theatre Guild.
The six horrible Herdman siblings crash Sunday school and cause havoc when they audition for the annual Christmas pageant. Catastrophe looms around every corner and everyone from the terrified pint-sized shepherds to the furious church ladies are calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. Can the holy terrors be turned into little angels by opening night? Now a heartfelt and humorous smash hit musical, this group of misfits might just end up teaching the town about the true meaning of Christmas.

Based on the Barabara Robinson play, the book and lyrics are by Jahnna Beecham with music and lyrics by Malcolm Hillgartner, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical” is sponsored by SC Johnson.
Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors (62 and above), and $17 for students (21 and under). Further savings are offered to groups of 12 or more. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation by students in UW-Milwaukee’s ASL program will be provided during the performance on Friday, December 13 at 7 p.m.
