The Bereavement Journey® In-person programme run by AtaLoss Sept-Nov

The Bereavement Journey® is a place to talk: 7 Sessions of films and discussion for anyone, whether grieving a death now, or wanting to explore a previous bereavement that may be unresolved. This course is for bereaved adults to do their own grief work, supported by a Participant Manual and facilitated by volunteers.

The sessions run weekly on Thursdays from 24th September to 5th November.

Attendance is recommended for all the Sessions, although it is possible to join at Session 2. It is most beneficial to attend at least a few weeks after the death - ideally after the funeral, but this is not essential and The Bereavement Journey® can also benefit those in anticipatory grief, as well as pregnancy loss.

Topics include:

• Attachment, separation and loss

• The pain and responses of grief

• Anger and guilt

• Coping with others’ reactions

• Delayed and suppressed grief

• Adjusting to change

• Moving forward healthily

Faith is reserved for the final, 7th session on Faith Questions in Bereavement from a Christian perspective, which is optional, making the course suitable for anyone of any faith or none.

This course is running on Thursday evenings with arrival from 7 for 7.30pm. Participants do their own grief work. Each Session consists of 2 films followed by discussion with a short break between. The course is most beneficial at least a few weeks after the death and attendance at all Sessions is recommended.

This course is the in-person course run for HTB by AtaLoss to help bereaved adults to process a bereavement. Each attendee must be processing a recent or past death, and bookings must be made per person. If you have booked to learn how to run the course please contact us on [email protected]. Also, please indicate on the form if someone you know is helping or intending to book the same course, as, where appropriate, we endeavour to put people who know each other into different groups.

If after booking you are unable to attend either Session 1 or Session 2, you will be asked to transfer to the next course, as the discussion groups have become established and no changes are made after this date.
