The Belle Sounds with Drifting Pixels

The Belle Sounds are back after a little break in performing to celebrate some new singles and are thrilled to have their drummer Danny’s project, Drifting Pixels opening the night to celebrate their new EP, LIGHT AS A FEATHER.

Austin’s Synth-Pop quintet The Belle Sounds have become known for their lush synth sounds, gorgeous guitar work by André Moran, addictive ear candy hooks and signature vocal harmonies from lead singer Noëlle Hampton, fellow keyboardist Emily Shirley and bassist Gregory Hagen, all driven by Danny Piccuirro on drums and samples.

They are back with some new singles this summer (dates TBD). In 2024 they released their new 6 song EP, Oh Humanity, the follow up to the Four Fathoms Deep EP and All About Love EP.

Formed in 2012 by husband/wife duo André Moran and Noëlle Hampton, the band has transformed over the years. Much of the sonic evolution started when Hampton began self-producing in 2020. Drawn to the sounds and influences of her youth in the 80s, she found herself creating music that calls back to artists like Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears,Peter Gabriel and more while holding on the her love of 70s/80s Fleetwood Mac. They have been called “one of the best pop bands in Austin” (Austin American Statesman), “Best New Band” (Austin Chronicle) and have their own day named after them in their hometown of Austin, TX.

Drifting Pixels:

Drifting Pixels is a musical project primarily consisting of Austin, Texas-based songwriter, producer, and drummer Danny Piccuirro. Piccuirro is responsible for the songwriting, production, and often the drumming on Drifting Pixels' tracks. The music is characterized by a blend of samples, distinctive production techniques, infectious loops and beats, and explorations of esoteric themes.

While Drifting Pixels functions primarily as a solo project, Piccuirro's latest EP release, "Light as a Feather", features collaborations with Noelle Hampton and Andre Moran of "The Belle Sounds", Meggan Carney of "Zettajoule" and Aaron Jordan of "Papershapes". His 2020 self-titled debut EP included "Everything's A OK", which gained airplay on KUTXand was included in a compilation album titled "LOST X LOST WEST, Vol. One presented by Zettajoule released via Atomic Milk Records.
