The Bear Essentials Trio, based out of Morgantown, WV is a cutting edge neotraditional string band. Made up of Claire Silbernagel, fiddle, Mason Atha, guitar, and Isaac McCarthy, banjo, the band met while playing in the West Virginia University, Bluegrass and Old Time bands. The repertoire spans Bluegrass and Old-time traditions alike, and together, the trio makes traditional music with a modern flair.
