The Bay Agenda: Youth Power Listening Party

Join KALW for a youth-led evening of sharing, listening, and collaboration about how to navigate 2025’s political and cultural landscape. This installment of the Bay Agenda is focused on amplifying the voices and views of teens. Hear presentations from youth-focused Bay Area organizations and share your views about the future. This is a night by teens, for teens, with a special breakout session for adult allies and educators .

Highlights include:

• Welcome Dinner. Enjoy a meal from our sponsor Joyride Pizza and meet your peers for a check-in about your feelings, concerns, and hopes as we enter 2025.
  
• Youth Power Roundtable. Hear from youth leaders about the projects and initiatives they’re producing to make the Bay Area a better place. Includes representatives from Oakland Youth Commission, San Francisco Youth Commission, RYSE, League of Women Voters-SF Youth Council, and NAACP-SF Youth Council.
  
• Supporting Youth Leaders. A community discussion for adult allies and educators of youth led by Shereen Adel, KALW’s Director of Impact with Danielle Deibler (LWVSF), Alondra Esquivel Garcia (SF YC), Sarah Tiras (OYC), Liza Ramrayka (USC Center for Health Journalism Fellow).
  
• Empowering Youth - An Open Conversation. Teens and adults come back together to share themes that came up in the breakout sessions and discuss ways to empower youth to face today’s challenges and inspire a better future.

• The event space is just to the left of the main entrance to the Mills Building at 220 Montgomery Street
• We recommend taking BART/MUNI, exiting at Montgomery, and walking two blocks north
• Ride-shares can drop off and pick up directly in front of the venue
• If you drive, there are several garages within two blocks of the event location
